CHICAGO (June 2011) -- Garrett Popcorn Shops will treat the millions of hot and hungry Chicagoans—and visitors—who flock to the Taste of Chicago (Grant Park, Friday, June 24 through Sunday, July 3) with the refreshing "Popcornsicle" and this year’s coolest treat, CaramelCream and Vanilla Popcorn Swirl Ice Cream (a new addition to Garrett Popcorn Shops Taste of Chicago menu).
The CaramelCream and Vanilla Popcorn Swirl ice cream calls to mind some of the well-loved Garrett flavors and transforms them into a cold summertime indulgence.
This year also marks the return of the Popcornsicle, a handcrafted CaramelCrisp® popcorn ball on a popsicle stick, then flash frozen, producing an icy-cold fog that billows from your mouth as you eat it. This process intensifies the caramel flavor of the popcorn and creates a one-of-a-kind, subzero feeling in the mouth.
Garrett Popcorn Shops can be found at booth #22, on Jackson Blvd, just west of the Lake Shore Drive entrance – across from the Petrillo Music Shell.
Garrett will offer six menu items: CaramelCream and Vanilla Popcorn Swirl Soft Serve Ice Cream, eight tickets; the Popcornsicle, six tickets; a five-ounce bag of The Chicago Mix, 10 tickets; a half-pound bag of Mixed Nuts, 12 tickets or sample size for four tickets; and Garrett Vanilla Popcorn Balls, four tickets each.
